Teaching at Another Location
In Korea many of the public school contracts do require that you teach at more than two public schools[this is perfectly legal]. However if your private employer is requesting that you work at another location for him, or for employment arranged by him then it is important that you know there is some vital paperwork to be done at immigration. Unless this paperwork has been done you will be teaching illegally while at another location and your employer will be in breach of the law.

Employees often are requested to work at two or more locations, but each situation must be distinguished differently. The following applies:
  • Some private schools/hogwons have their employee travel to a branch of that same hogwon, and work there. In any case like this where you are required to work at a separate location belonging to the employer or the same franchise, the employer must advise the Immigration of the fact within 15 days.
  • If the Employer has the employee subcontracted to a different employer. In this case the foreigner (teacher) who is holding an E-2 status and must work for another unrelated hogwon, the following documents are required by Immigration: Passport - Foreign Registration Card - Application Form - Contract Paper - Letters from both Employers - Fee of 60,000 Won.
