Overtime
If you work overtime hours for more than your base monthly hours, your pay will be higher. Overtime rates are only the same as normal hourly rates until you work more than 40 hours a week. Korean employment law dictates this.

Overtime availability is totally dependent on the staff/pupil levels in your school, or other teachers being sick/absent from taking their rostered classes, meaning you will have to be a substitute teacher at these times. Some schools may have times when no overtime is available, while at other times you may find you are feeling overworked.

Overtime is usually paid at the rate of 18,000-20,000 won per class. Some schools might offer a little more, but never more than 25,000 won per class. A class is usually between 40 and 50 minutes long.

NOTE: Your pay is worked on the addition of class contact time rather than per hour.
