Concerts and Graduation

One of the most important times in the annual school calendar is the kindergarten graduation concert. This is usually held in January or February. The Korean children will have enrolled at the school at 4 years of age and spent 2 full years coming to the school. All children start Korean state school when they turn 6 yrs of age. There are 2 main starting times, February /March and again in August /September. The school will always do a major public presentation for the parents to showcase the English achievements of their children. This evening is even finished with a mini graduation ceremony with all the children "capped" just as if they were receiving their bachelors degrees! This formal concert will have you pulling your hair out for weeks before as practices are put into place. Each class of children will be required to put on an item in English and you will be asked to come up with all the ideas for this. A daunting task if you have never done any thing like this before.
