Children's Day - Normally in May. It used to be a public holiday but from 2003 on it is to be celebrated on a Saturday. This is the day all children are honored and given special gifts and treatments.
Teacher's Day - Wonderful day to look out for. Normally in May and traditionally a time of giving gifts and thanks to the teachers. You could definitely gain a few lovely presents at this time.
Arbor Day - Tree planting day in April. All Koreans are expected to plant a tree. This used to be a public holiday but in 2003 on it will be always celebrated on a Saturday.
Korean Thanks Giving (Chosuk) - Around September/start of October. You will be expected to make gifts such as little rice cakes. This is another time of gift giving for Koreans and a very special family time. Make sure you understand the importance of this time, as you will get at least 1-3 days holiday at this time.
New Year - Depending on the moon?s cycles this is the end of January to early February. This is again a very special time for all Asian countries, and you will have 1-3 day?s holiday at this time.
