School Transport
|
Each school will have a number of buses with the appropriate school advertising signage all over the sides. These buses will be either 11 or 21 seaters. In the larger buses there may be some very dangerous fold out seating that occupies the center aisle for times of crowding. They are used daily to collect and take home all the students at the school. Don?t expect any safety belts of provision of risk management, as it is highly unlikely to happen.
I have seen 21 kindergarten children squeezed into a 12-seater mini van. ?Arms out windows? and even a child on the floor in front of the passenger's seat.
If a field trip is being undertaken then the school do not think about matching numbers of students to seats, they just think about getting there and back. Often some of my most scary moments in Korea were when I was using any form of either school or public bus transport as speed, passenger safety and overloading never seem to be thought of.
