It is important that you take notice of the body language you are displaying to the students and the body language they use around you. I have listed just a few examples below. There certainly are many more.

If a teacher in our program has any concerns regarding an action or body language signal for themselves or the student, they can email our help line and we can give them a very good assessment of what we think is happening and what it all means.

  Teacher - Positive body language

Smiling, sitting down at the same level as the student.
Giving an appreciative small hug to a student.
Tidy, clean, nice smelling appearance.
Relaxed arms and shoulders, not clenched crossed arms.

  Student - Positive body language

Looks you in the eye with a sparkle.
Spontaneously hugs you.
Gives you little gifts and treasures.
Draws a picture especially for you.
Touches your arm or shoulder while sitting beside you.
