Responsibilities of the Employer
|
- All costs involved with the initial filing of sponsorship documents at an immigration office in Korea, and the postage and delivery of the visa issuance letter to the teacher in their country of residence. A responsibility to follow all conditions as set out in the sponsored employee's contract and to be a good employer under the Korean Labor law.
- To arrange to meet the new teacher at the airport upon their arrival into Korea, or to send a designated person to do this for them and to pay all domestic travel costs within Korea required for them to arrive at their sponsored place of employment. To refund the airfare costs to the employee within a reasonable time period (usually within 20 days) of their arrival in Korea.
- To fully understand the 'terms and conditions of employment' as provided to them by WORLD ENGLISH SERVICE LTD. and to know the responsibilities of all parties. To pay recruitment and 'services provided' costs, as negotiated with W.E.S within 2 weeks of the arrival at the school of the contracted teacher.
- To provide accurate, up to date information contained in their employment contract. Contract conditions such as pay, hours, housing, and general information about their school or place of business must be clearly outlined.
- To promptly organise the 'Alien card registration' for the employee, and to confirm Korean medical insurance if the employee is accepting this.
- To correctly deduct the appropriate general and pension taxes applicable under Korean law and to provide income, tax and salary statements to the employee.
